Owens Lake

The Owens Lake project in Lone Pine, California has been a continuing project to control dust on the dry lake bed at Owens Lake Valley. B.J. Rees’s Enterprise has crushed material for ground cover on several phases of this project. This project’s current crushing equipment consists of a Metso/Nordberg C140 42″ x 55″ primary jaw crusher, one Nordberg G3812 secondary cone crusher, and two Metso/Nordberg model HP400 cone crushers. A Surestrike model 4000 rock breaker mounted on a Komatsu PC750 excavator is used for breaking any oversize material before feeding the primary jaw crusher. This project’s present and past phases have required processing about one million tons of material in one season. The products have been various sizes of larger Rip Rap, and smaller material for ground cover.
